Over the last couple of years, London-based producer and DJ Laurence Guy has proven his worth with a string of great releases on Church, Rose Records and Cin Cin. 2017 has seen the release of his debut album on home stable Church, featuring appearances from Steve Spacek, Ishmael and Contours, where he explores rewarding musical diversions, a mixture of house, ambient, jazz and lo-fi electronica, it’s garnered praise from all over. Here is 5 of his actual inspirations before his coming at The Day Session on September 2 at STYX (London).
“Nouveaux Nation – It’s Just a Dream (Club Mix)”
“Good example of the lesser spotted £2 banger, generally played at +6 for full effect.”

“BAM Music Edits – Missing You”

“Picked this one up at Love Vinyl in Hoxton last year, they’d written something along the lines of “HUGE HUGE HUGE DON’T MISS OUT” on the label and they were fucking right, so I didn’t.”

“Theo Parrish – Dan Ryan”

“The B side to “Walking Thru The Sky”. Heavy and percussive, it’s a great one when moving from disco to house.”

“Omar S – Day”

“The ultimate warm up groove from Omar S.”

“Tate’s Place – Burnin’ (Jazzanova Remix)”

“Heavy broken beat remix from Jazzanova, get’s a bigger reaction than you might expect (mostly).”
