Because the artist doesn’t have a musical etiquette , appart from being a Dj and a producer influenced by multiples genres and styles  that he synthesises and brings to his public. We asked the « Telephone Man » to give us his best adresses of the city- if you ever wanted to go there or just to learn more about the motor city. Terrence Parker will play for Labyrinth at The Day Session with Seb Wildblood, Laolu and more on September 2. You can already grab your ticket

What’s to do in the summer when everyone’s gone?

There are series of festivals happening in downtown Detroit starting in Mid May running through Labor Day Weekend (September 4). The first big event is the Movement Festival put on by Paxahau which is a 3 day electronic festival featuring artists from all around the world. Other festivals celebrate the diverse culture of Detroit and inclure Concert Of Colors, Caribbean Cultural Fest, African World Fest, Charivari Detroit House & Techno Fest, Detroit International Jazz Festival.

What’s the collective’s HQ when it comes to drinks?

Personnally I do not drink. That being said, among people I know the coffee shops are most popular. A few key places to check out are Le Petit Zinc, Astro Coffee, Urban Bean, Bottom Line Coffee, Roasting Plant and Cafe 1923.

Where can you find the best records in town?

In my opinion, Detroit Threads is the best place to find some new and classic Detroit releases. They also have a wide selection of t-shirts and merchandise from local labels and vintage clothing.

What can you do for a first date?

Put Put Golf (aka Mini Golf) can be a fun first date. Royal Oak Golf Center is a good place for mini golf at a reasonable price.

A good spot to go for a sandwich at 5AM?

We have many Conney Island Restaurants in Detroit that are open at 5am. My personal spot is Leo’s Conney Island.

A good address for brunch?

I would suggest Le Petit Zinc as they have some good light meal choices for brunch.

The best plan to chill on a Sunday?

First stop has to be The Museum Of Contemporary Art Detroit (aka MOCAD) and Cafe 78. They offer espresso and light meal choices. Usually on Sundays during the summer they have DJs providing the music soundtrack to the Cafe 78 experience. For later in the day, Belle Isle Park is a great place to relax on a Sunday for a walk, bike ride, or simply relaxing. It is a small island off park in the Detroit River located in downtown Detroit.
