“Good preparation prevents poor performance” is a motto we live up with. We went to Gottwood festival in North Wales – the best of disco, electro & techno you can dream of!
Everything started with a wizard showing us the way into the woods – da Gottwood.
You feel the wizardry – there are most probably some trolls, hobbits and mystical creatures living in the woods, and most certainly owls (hence the design of the logo).
We were submerged by the beautiful environment we were in – the lake, the magnificent trees, the lighting, the art, the beautifully curved shape tents, the hidden stages in the forest or in the head of a wooden build owl..
On Friday night, we were exploring the site – wondering between the different stages, discovering the atmosphere of each stage until we found the “Ruffy’s Lab”, a wooden hidden shed for our biggest surprised pleasure. Sven Atterton was in the middle of his set – sending off good vibes, distorted notes and incredibly good bass. He was playing live and wasn’t the only one!
The line-up was endlessly good – Antal, Red Axes, Move D, Ross From Friends (Live), The Black Madonna, Helena Hauff, DJ Tennis, Erol Alkan b2b Leon Vynehall, Extrawelt (Live), Matthew Herbert, Young Marco and so much more!
The incredible Harvey Sutherland & Bermuda were also here playing live!
On top of all the shops and the nicely selected food stalls there was a screen showing off movie under a tent at the entrance of the camp… very enjoyable after few hours sleep. The novelty this year was the “nest of the lake” – a restaurant that was available to get proper resourced after a good boogie night.
The aim of festival is obviously also to get lost and discover new music … which we did and trully apprecited it – it got us into this SUPERFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUS – mood!
See you next year Gottwood!
