The fast-rising talent Elliot Adamson has given us his secrets after the Eastern Electrics festival in London in early August. Here is the occasion to learn a little bit more about him!
Have you got a bedside book?
I read quite frequently – usually on flights since they bore the life out of me. I just finished reading Peter Hooks book on The Hacienda in Manchester which was great – the one I’m on now turned out quite dark and you probably don’t want to publish that in this lovely interview!
One track you listen to in secret?
I LOVE the new Jay-z album and I currently listen to it in the shower every day although that’s no secret.
What are you go at, besides music?
I love a good restaurant although my wallet doesn’t.
Can you share us 3 tracks which will never leave your DJ Bag?
Clarian – “Ver 11am Mix”
Digital Justice – “Profit (No Till)”
Lovebird – “Want You In My Soul (Reprise)”
If you had to be reincarnated as an animal, which animal?
A huge fat doggo – no reason needed.
The most valuable record you have in your collection?
My edit of The Streets – people keep trying to give me money for a copy, when I made it I didn’t think it would be worth anything at all!
Your first record?
I don’t remember exactly what it was but I won a signed copy of something from Annie Mac in a Facebook competition back in 2010.
If you were an object?
A huge dildo.
Which artist would you like to see? (dead or alive)
Well it would be a bit rude to tell you which artist I would like to see dead – ha!
Do you have any ritual before stepping onto the stage?
Looking at the time on my phone every 3 seconds.
Your favorite machine?
A guilty passion ?
A track that you love but you can’t play and why?
I will literally play anything, don’t try to challenge me on that one!
Your favorite instrument?
The Human Voice.
If you had to sample the soundtrack of a movie ? Which one?
The Big Lebowski.
An unusual place where you dream to play?
At home in the bath.
A track that you wish to produce?
Patrick Topping – “Be Sharp Say Nout”, we get quite competitive with each other and this is the one I just can’t top no matter how much I try.
A « Hard Life » anecdote you could share with us?
I drank a bottle of whiskey at a party when I was still in school before and pissed myself and my mam had to pick me up – not sure if that is a hard life anecdote though since I probably had a wicked time!
