Incoming. Hard Life has heard in the wind of a new night coming to East London. Editions, is tipped to be the next big thing.
Editions is a new club night with a twist. Premiering on July 1st in Shoreditch Platforms loft, this is an event to restore faith in London night life. In conversation with promoters Hard Life has been promised that this night is to be perceived as a ‘new experience’ entirely. The night is focused on thoughtful consideration on two elements: theme and music.
Each Edition will feature a theme which the night will be curated around, assuring each event to be an individual and unique experience. This means, decorations and art visuals galore by a team dedicated to doing so. Headed by Adrienn Peterffy, the production is sure to be top quality given her extensive back catalogue of work for various festivals and club nights. For the first event clubbers are being invited to Miami circa 1987. Think white linen, Hawaiian shirts, shoulder pads, palm trees, neon lights, flamingos and more. Not to be confused with a fancy dress party this is still a serious soirée. The intention being to transport attendees to an exotic time, not to have them recreate it (although I’m sure no one would mind).
At the helms of the launch party is none other than Daniel Wang, Californian by birth, Berlin-based by trade. Disco titan Wang is a surefire selector to choose for this event. Organiser Chloé Rambo informed us that the reason for Daniel Wang being their choice was that he embodies the essence of clubbing that reflects Editions philosophy. A well considered response that we are firmly behind. Delving deeper into this she explained its important to them when booking to not have someone play due to a hype around the name but someone who will be true to their art form, who better than semi-veteran Daniel Wang to do so.
Given the nature and name of the party of course the team are well planned ahead of their debut night. The sophomore event will be on 16th September in Hoxton Basement with Stump Valley announced. For those not in the know (understandably so), this is a multi-purpose venue thats is very rarely used for club nights as it is usually an art space. The benefit of this venue being that it is a blank canvas for Edition to work from which is an exciting prospect with Peterffy on their side. Following this on 2nd December they will take over Red Gallery (Kamio) with GE-OLOGY playing all night long.
Editions is a welcome addition to Londons currently revitalising night life. Here at Hard Life we are very excited to see what they have up their sleeves for the first event. Tickets are available on Resident Advisor, get them before they fly out. Support for Daniel Wang is coming from Joseph Russell & Manuel Darquart. See you on the dance floor.
