It’s official: the UK nightlife is under threat.
In the past year we have witnessed the closure of Passing Clouds, Shapes, Dance Tunnel, MODE and, most recently, fabric. The demise of the latter proved to be particularly devastating not just to Londoners, but all music-lovers. As the Capital is slowly but steadily seeing iconic venues disappear as part of its unwarranted ‘sanitisation’, MEOKO and NTIA have joined forces to organise a peaceful demonstration on Saturday 8th October. The event, which is set to have over 3000 people attending, is a call for the government to gain awareness of this crucial aspect of our culture.
The protest will start in Hoxton Square at 1pm and will end at London Fields at around 4pm, where a selection of guest speakers – including the chairman of the NTIA and members of the fabric family – will be sharing their thoughts and ideas to help secure the future of London’s nightlife. And of course there will be many after parties happening once it’s all over… most notably ‘Fabric Meets Studio 338’ at The Bridge in Bow, headlined by Levon Vincent, Trevor Jackson, Saoirse and more… See you there!
