FRIDAY 23RD SEPTEMBER. 10PM – 6AM
Described as a “new hub for underground electronic music”, The Bridge will open its doors to the public for the first time this Friday with Toi. Toi. hosting the debut preview party.
Taking over the space that used to be the home of Roka that hosted a series of Russian-infused night’s, The Bridge is a new project from the innovative minds behind Studio 338, which tragically burnt down in August this year claiming the life of the much-loved Tomas Ceidukas. As the plans for the reconstruction of Studio 338 are put in place, The Bridge should relieve the void left by its absence. With a smaller, more intimate capacity of 500, a new hub for underground electronic music is ensured.
The teaser video provides a glimpse into the Void Acoustic Soundsystem and high-tech LED lighting that awaits London’s partygoers, with 4 preview nights to be hosted before the full opening on the 12th November. The line-up for Toi. Toi.’s party sets the tone for the cutting edge performances to come at this venue. Sammy Dee joins Toi. Toi. artists including Ion Ludwig, Junki Inoue and co-founder Voigtmann. Brazilian DJ Stekke and Nacho Cabanelas also make up the selectors for the evening.
Friday signifies the beginning of something special for London’s nightlife. However, the music doesn’t stop after Friday’s preview party as Grooves celebrate their first birthday at The Bridge on Sunday; a day and night party that fits the venue perfectly with multiple outdoor areas for partygoer’s to enjoy.
It is clear that The Bridge has the potential to bridge the gap from a summer of sadness for London nightclub venues to a winter of resilience and pure positive vibes for the London underground dance scene. The Bridge has already presented itself to be key to this scene, announcing the Save the Night event, where Levon Vincent, Trevor Jackson and Saoirse will play on the 8th October with proceeds going towards the funding of reopening Fabric as well as the repair of Studio 338. The Bridge could not come soon enough, let’s go!
